Who needs this service?

Primary users are directors of limited and public-limited companies — both foreigners and Thai nationals who cannot personally appear at the DBD registrar — who use this notarial certification in lieu of in-person signing before the registrar. It is also used when directors live abroad and engage a Thai legal team to file on their behalf. The attorney certifies the director's signature on DBD-prescribed forms such as Bor.Or.Jor.1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and various amendment applications.

DBD-specific format and wording requirements

DBD has very specific requirements that, if missed, cause immediate rejection: (1) the certifying attorney must display the attorney registration number and Notarial Services Attorney registration number; (2) the Notarial Services Attorney license number must be stated; (3) the attorney seal must be affixed at the prescribed location; (4) the certification wording must state ‘signed in my presence’ along with date, time, and place; (5) for foreign directors, a passport copy certified by the same attorney must be attached.
