What is Signature Witnessing?
Confirmation that the signer executed the document in the certifier's presence and matched their ID.
In detail
This is the most frequent notarial act, used for powers of attorney, contracts, bank forms and foreign agency forms. The signer must attend with an original passport or national ID and must not pre-sign; if the document is already signed, the signer re-executes it in front of the certifying attorney.
