Check the activity category first
The BOI publishes promotable activity categories with conditions. Describe the products, services and process actually carried out in Thailand. Activities outside the list, or only partial steps, may not qualify.
BOI promotion: check that the activity fits a published category, that project conditions are achievable and that the incentives you want exist for that category before filing through the BOI system.
Investment promotion is granted project by project by the BOI under the Investment Promotion Act; it does not come automatically with company registration. This page organises project information before filing and does not assure approval or incentive levels.

Tax incentives such as corporate income tax exemption or machinery import duty relief vary in duration and cap by category and conditions. Non-tax rights such as land ownership and bringing in foreign experts must be checked against current announcements.
Prepare investment, machinery, capacity, site and staffing plans. Conditions may include minimum investment, shareholding, environmental standards and technology; they must be realistic because they are monitored after approval.
Applications are filed through the BOI electronic system. Officers may call a project presentation and request more data; the applicant should be able to answer technical and financial questions it owns.
A promotion certificate does not replace factory licences, activity licences, VAT registration or accounting and tax duties. Review these separately.
Promoted companies must accept the resolution, meet conditions, report and request start of operations within deadlines. Assign responsibility and separate accounting for the promoted activity in advance.
General preparation guidance. Check current announcements and project facts before filing; eligibility and approval are not assured.
