Detailed Answer
effective from 28 February 2027, Thailand is a full member of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention. Thai documents bearing an MFA-issued Apostille are accepted without further embassy legalization in all 125+ contracting states — including all G7 (USA, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan), all EU, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, South Africa, Israel, Turkey, and most of Eastern Europe and Latin America. Notable non-Hague countries that still require traditional embassy legalization: United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Vietnam, mainland China (note: China's Apostille is separate), Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and most of Africa. Thai Notary routes documents through the correct chain automatically.
