What is a Notarial Services Attorney (NSA) in Thailand?
Thailand has no civil-law Notary Public. Instead, the Lawyers Council licenses Notarial Services Attorneys (NSA) to certify signatures, copies, oaths, and translations for international use — accepted by all 190+ countries via MFA/embassy legalization.
Detailed Answer
Thailand does not have a civil-law Notary Public office. Instead, the Lawyers Council of Thailand (in the King's Patronage) licenses qualified lawyers as Notarial Services Attorneys (NSA) under the Regulation on Notarial Services Attorneys B.E. 2546 (2003). An NSA can: (1) authenticate signatures, (2) certify true copies, (3) administer oaths and affidavits, (4) certify translations, and (5) verify corporate documents. NSA-certified documents are accepted internationally after Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) consular legalization and embassy attestation, covering 190+ countries. Thai Notary lawyers are fully NSA-registered with the Council.
